54 injured, 18 missing after Ras Laffan explosion - Qatar ministry reports

 


The MOI  Qatar  reported  the  number of injured and  vanished ones on its  twitter  account .....



 Sad  day   for  Qatar .... 

  • An industrial explosion occurred Sunday evening at the Barzan gas facility in Ras Laffan Industrial City, Qatar, during start-up operations.

  • The incident was caused by a technical malfunction; the fire was quickly contained.

  • No dangerous leaks were initially reported.

  • 54 people were injured.

  • 18 people remain missing.

  • Search and rescue operations are ongoing, led by Lekhwiya's international search and rescue group and civil defense teams.

  • Ras Laffan is Qatar's main LNG processing hub
