World Horse Day on July 11 - by the UN

 The UN in Geneva is celebrating World Horse Day on July 11. This day was created by the UN in June 2025. They want to remind us how horses have helped people for a long time – in farming, transport, work, and even therapy. Today, horses and other working donkeys and mules still support the lives of about 600 million people around the world. But they face problems like hot weather caused by climate change. The UN asks us to protect these animals. The post includes a picture of a horse with the words "Honoring a Timeless Partner" and the UN logo. The campaign is also linked to the FAO and other UN groups that promote good farming, fair pay for rural people, and better care for working animals. 🐴🌾

Commuters can enter by filming their metro journey, posting it with the hashtag, and tagging @metrotram_qa. Three winners are selected weekly, each receiving a 30-day metropass. The campaign promotes "cool" commutes to beat the summer heat .

 The government of Qatar has told all small boat owners to stop using their boats right now. This includes fishing boats, jet skis, and any boats used for fun or personal trips.

This rule started on July 12, 2026. It is for safety reasons. No one knows when it will end.

Big ships that follow international safety rules can still sail.

The government is working with security teams on this decision.

A similar stop happened at the end of June 2026.

Right now, there are some tensions in the area between the US and Iran, which affects safety in the Gulf.
