Sharm El-Sheikh Accident Involving Qatari Diplomats -3 dead -2 injured

On October 12, 2025, a tragic car accident in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt claimed the lives of three Qatari diplomats and left two others injured. According to the Qatari Embassy in Cairo, the officials were traveling as part of a delegation attending meetings related to the Gaza peace talks, which were being held in the Red Sea resort city. 

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the deaths and expressed condolences to the victims’ families. Egyptian authorities are cooperating with Qatar in investigating the crash and facilitating the return of the bodies. The two injured diplomats are being treated in a local hospital. Sources close to the talks noted that the Qatari team had been involved in regional mediation efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire and easing the humanitarian situation in Gaza.


The incident drew condolences from regional governments and international organizations, underlining Qatar’s ongoing diplomatic role in Middle Eastern peace negotiations. While no foul play is suspected, the event has cast a shadow over the ongoing discussions in Sharm el-Sheikh.
