 It is more than 1 .100 km far from us .
 But in Kuwait city there was a scare - people flocked to the street from high buildings.
 They are around 6oo km far from the epicenter .

FNAC Qatar - Black Friday Sale Huge Success

The Black Friday offer of FNAC in the Doha Festival City attracted large crowds . There must have been some real deals . People complained in the social media about having to wait half an hour at the cashier .
I went to the Mall of Qatar  yesterday. I saw no crowds and no attractive offers there . Only expensive items and you were supposed to buy 2 or 3 of them to get one free . But no regrets . After watching this video  I am happy I did not go . I   feel very uncomfortable in crowds ,

  Been there - saw the  Nobel Peace Laureate  activist speaking with great enthusiasm  about her country . Love of freedom  , the man made tragedy .After the speech  came the interview . I loved how the AJ English reporter  asked embarrassing questions as well . Criticizing  a Nobel Peace Laureate  ! That is the real journalism .  Most of the speech was in Arabic . Most of the people needed the  headphones and device for the simultaneous interpretation .
   
 . There were a lots of Americans  -  I had the impression . Tawakkol Karman  hopes that the war will end within short time . Others were not so optimistic . Many thinks that the US media concern about the Yemen war is just a show before the elections .

heavy Rain in Qatar - Oct 20 2018

This  Saturday the rain in Qatar overwrote  everything . Programs  and events were cancelled - clubs closed -everyone was asked to stay at home .

It started around noon time - just the usual  heavy shower  of  these last  three days . We expected it to stop within one hour . But it  kept raining with a lots of thunder and lightnings until 4 pm . Then little rivers were created in our street . But it was fun - at lower parts of the city  it was worse .Water level   one meter at some parts of Doha .



 One of our child was taking part in an event . The school bus was supposed to get her back around two pm . But the tunnels were all closed and the bus could not get there in timely manner . When it managed to  get  near the modern building  of  Education City area then it could not  get closer to the building as it was flooded .

Finally she arrived home six hours later than  it was planned . Well  , it was an adventurous day .
And the rain is not over !

  It was really a very heavy downpour  for hours .
