The red heart emoji is one of the most universal symbols of love and warmth — but in the Middle East, it carries a bit more cultural weight. While Western users freely sprinkle ❤️ in friendly messages, people in Arab and Muslim-majority countries use it with more care, mindful of social and cultural context.
Within families, sending a red heart to a mother, sister, daughter, or aunt is completely natural and seen as a gesture of affection and respect. It’s a warm reminder of family ties — and perfectly acceptable in Islamic culture.
However, when the ❤️ appears between non-related men and women, it may be interpreted as romantic or intimate, which can cause embarrassment or misunderstanding. That’s why many users prefer neutral colors — such as the 🤍 white heart (purity and sincerity), 💛 yellow heart (friendship), or 💚 green heart (peace and faith).
In short, the key is intent and relationship. In the Middle East, a red heart is still powerful — just best reserved for family and close loved ones.

Qatar Charity Expands Relief Operations in Gaza
DOHA – Qatar Charity (QC) has intensified its humanitarian aid in Gaza, delivering 1,000 hot meals daily to displaced families returning to northern areas. An additional 315 meals are provided every day to patients with special needs at Hamad Hospital for Rehabilitation and Prosthetics.
So far, QC has distributed 4,700 food parcels to families facing severe shortages, with a goal of reaching 24,700 parcels in total. The organization also plans to supply 2.4 million litres of clean drinking water and support education by distributing 4,500 school bags and rehabilitating 60 classrooms damaged by the conflict.
These efforts are part of Qatar’s ongoing humanitarian response to the Gaza crisis, aimed at restoring essential services and easing food insecurity for thousands of civilians.

Countries by Antibiotic Use
— World of Statistics (@stats_feed) October 13, 2025
Daily dose of antibiotics (DDD), used per 1,000 inhabitants:
🇮🇷 Iran: 68
🇿🇦 South Africa: 51
🇪🇬 Egypt: 50
🇧🇩 Bangladesh: 49
🇹🇿 Tanzania: 35
🇯🇴 Jordan: 34
🇨🇾 Cyprus: 34
🇲🇪 Montenegro: 33
🇳🇵 Nepal: 32
🇱🇦 Laos: 30
🇷🇴 Romania: 29
🇹🇳 Tunisia: 28
🇫🇷…
The difference in antibiotic use (measured in Defined Daily Doses per 1,000 inhabitants per day) reveals much more than just “how much medicine people take.” It reflects deep differences in healthcare systems, regulations, public health awareness, and socioeconomic factors.
Why Iran, Egypt, and South Africa are among the highest users ?
Why Oman, Qatar, and Mali use antibiotics the least ?
Antibiotic use reveals much about a nation’s health system. In Iran, Egypt, and South Africa, overuse stems from easy access, infection burdens, and weak regulation, fueling resistance risks. In contrast, Oman and Qatar tightly control prescriptions and maintain cleaner health environments, while Mali’s low rates reflect limited access, not restraint. Behind each statistic lies a story of inequality, awareness, and how societies value responsible medicine.
🌍 In some countries, you can buy antibiotics without a prescription, leading to frequent misuse and resistance.
🏥 In others, their use is strictly regulated, and only doctors can prescribe them.
🚑 In many places, people lack access to healthcare, so they rarely get antibiotics even when needed.
⚖️ As a result, low antibiotic use can appear both in wealthy and in poor nations — but for very different reasons.
💬 Cultural beliefs matter: in some regions, antibiotics are seen as a quick “cure-all,” even for viral infections.
✈️ Global travel and trade spread antibiotic-resistant bacteria, turning local misuse into a worldwide threat.
One day it’s hot and humid, the next it’s windy and dusty — welcome to Doha’s mood swings! 😅 If you’ve been feeling drained lately, you’re not imagining it. Unstable weather really can zap your energy. The humidity messes with your body’s cooling system, the dust lowers oxygen quality, and before you know it, you’re walking around like a half-charged phone. 🔋
But don’t worry — with a few small tweaks, you can totally outsmart the weather and feel like yourself again. Here’s your mini survival guide 👇
Plain water is great, but Doha weather calls for next-level hydration. Add a pinch of sea salt or a splash of lemon juice to your water — this combo helps your body absorb fluids better and replaces lost minerals. Think of it as your DIY electrolyte drink, minus the sugar. Bonus: it also helps with headaches and that “foggy” feeling! 🧂🍋
If your energy feels stuck in slow motion, your body might be low on key vitamins. Try adding vitamin D (since dusty skies block sunlight) and B vitamins for natural focus and motivation. A handful of nuts, some yogurt with fruit, or even a green smoothie can give your system the reboot it needs. 🥤✨
You don’t have to run a marathon. Gentle stretching, yoga, or a quick dance in your living room can improve circulation and boost endorphins. Movement signals your body to “wake up” — even five minutes can make a difference! 🎶
If you’re staying indoors more, make your space a mini wellness zone. Keep it cool, ventilated, and clean — and maybe add a few easy plants like aloe vera or peace lily. They freshen up the air and instantly make your mood lighter. 🌿💚
Weather-related tiredness isn’t laziness — it’s your body adjusting to environmental stress. Rest when you need to. Drink when you’re thirsty. Eat clean, move gently, and stay kind to yourself.
Because even under Doha’s most unpredictable skies, you deserve to feel balanced, bright, and beautifully alive. 🌤️💫

Krasznahorkai also spoke about his happiness and excitement about being the newest Nobel Prize… pic.twitter.com/n5SWZKjR3w
László Krasznahorkai, born in 1954 in Gyula, Hungary, is one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary literature. Known for his long, flowing sentences and explorations of existential and apocalyptic themes, his novels, including Sátántangó and The Melancholy of Resistance, immerse readers in Kafka-esque worlds of human struggle and societal decay 🖋️🌌.
As a literary figure, he continues Hungary’s proud tradition of producing globally influential writers 🇭🇺, blending Central European history, philosophy, and personal observation into novels that are both challenging and mesmerizing ✨. Krasznahorkai’s life and work show how isolation, discipline, and vision can create stories that linger in the mind long after the last page 📖💭.
Krasznahorkai has revealed in this interview that he actually lives in three places: near Budapest, in Trieste (Italy), and in Vienna (Austria). This triad of homes reflects his central European ties and literary cosmopolitanism, showing that while he treasures solitude for writing, he also remains connected to vibrant cultural centers.
Krasznahorkai said that his primary inspiration comes from a sense of bitterness — a deep awareness of the world’s fragility and the human condition .
Traveling across the Gulf region is about to become easier than ever. The Unified GCC Tourist Visa, expected to launch soon, will allow visitors to explore six countries—Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain—with just one visa.
This initiative mirrors the European Schengen model, aiming to boost regional tourism and strengthen economic ties among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states. For travelers, it means no more juggling multiple applications, fees, or border entry restrictions—just one visa to experience the rich diversity of the Arabian Peninsula.
From the futuristic skyline of Dubai to the serene beaches of Oman, the cultural charm of Bahrain, the natural beauty of Saudi Arabia’s AlUla, and the vibrant energy of Doha, visitors will be able to move freely and discover more of what the Gulf has to offer.
The visa also aligns with the GCC’s long-term vision to position the region as a global tourism hub, encouraging longer stays and multi-destination travel. With streamlined procedures and digital systems in place, the GCC aims to create a seamless and welcoming travel experience for millions of visitors every year.
As details about eligibility, duration, and rollout dates continue to emerge, one thing is clear: the Unified GCC Tourist Visa will reshape travel in the Middle East, making the dream of exploring the entire Gulf region on a single trip finally possible.
