WWII bomb explodes in Japan

 




On October 2, 2024, an unexploded World War II bomb detonated at Miyazaki Airport in southwestern Japan.Fortunately, no one was injured, though over 80 flights were canceled, affecting travel between Miyazaki and major cities like Tokyo and Osaka.This incident highlights Japan's ongoing challenge with unearthed bombs from the war​ .

After 79 years, incidents involving unexploded ordnance remain commonplace. Fortunately, many of these devices do not detonate. However, as recent events show, the risk still exists


On the  same  day a report was received by the Hungarian Armed Forces bomb disposal unit regarding the discovery of a suspected explosive device during the demolition of the embankment of the railway bridge crossing Soroksári Road in Budapest's IX district. This information was shared on the social media platform by the MH 1st Bomb Disposal and River Patrol Battalion.
