Visiting the pavilion of DR Congo was one of my saddest experiences during Expo 2003 in Doha. So far, I did not know that this country, having so much potential, is so poor and exploited.
It has water, diamonds, lithium, cobalt, gold, copper, jungle, cocoa. It would be difficult even to list everything.
Still, they are one of the poorest people in the world. They live on a daily $2 to cover all their needs.
" I know all the 54 independent African states have a story to tell including my home Kenya but Congo has the saddest story of all since Leopold's time."
