 By French artist Francois Xavier Lalanne. Located at #Katara_Hills, in cooperation with #QatarMuseums

Francois-Xavier Lalanne, a French artist most renowned for his sheep sculptures, created fantastical animal, flora, and fauna-inspired pieces with frequently concealed functional purposes.

He attended the Académie Julian in Paris to study art. In 1952, he met his future wife Claude Lalanne at his first gallery exhibition. Serge Gainsbourg chose one of her works, "The Man with the Cabbage Head," for the cover of an album in  1976 .

It is not official  -  but the original painting (1892) was sold for a huge amount ( 300 M USD )  its title is Nafea Faa Ipoipo (When Will You Marry?)

 the seller was a Swiss person  - who sold it privately  to someone  - it is thought that Qatar Museum authority is the buyer  .
