Wealth and Woe: DR Congo's Tale - poem

In Congo's heart, where jungles whisper tales,

Where waters flow and diamonds gleam in veils,

Lithium's pulse beats beneath the soil's embrace,

A land of wealth, yet struggles we must face.

For though the land is rich, its bounty vast,

The people toil, their hopes tied to the mast.

Through sweat and toil, they labor every day,

But shadows loom where light should lead the way.

Corrupt elites, with greed as their decree,

Swoop in like vultures, blind to empathy.

They steal the fruits of labor, wealth amassed,

Leaving communities in poverty, aghast.

Diamonds gleam, reflecting shattered dreams,

Lithium's power tainted by schemes.

Yet still, amidst the darkness, hope remains,

In the hearts of those who break these chains.

So let us raise our voices high and clear,

Demanding justice, banishing the fear.

For Congo's riches belong to all,

Not just the few who let ambition fall.

Let rivers flow, let diamonds shine,

Let lithium power a future divine.

And may the jungle's song be heard anew,

In a Congo where justice and freedom ensue.
