All scheduled appointments are now cancelled except Well-baby and Vaccination Clinics and Urgent Radiology and Ultrasound appointments.


Walk-in and Urgent Clinics
  • All Walk-in and urgent units will be operating as normal
  • All Urgent Care Units will be operating as normal 
    • PHCC’s six Urgent Care Centers – at Gharrafat Al Rayyan, Rawdat Al Khail, Al Gharafa, Al Kaaban, Al Shahaniyah, and Al Shamal Health Centers – all remain open as usual 24 hours a day 7 days aa week for walk-in patients requiring urgent care

All patients with scheduled outpatient appointments will continue to receive a consultation by one of our doctors. However, all outpatient appointments will be delivered via telephone consultations. Therefore, patients should not come into the hospital. If during the telephone consultation the doctor deems that the patient needs to come in to see them, the doctor will arrange for a new appointment within days.
These changes are being made to protect patients, visitors and the wider public from the spread of COVID-19.

Cancellation of elective surgeries

All elective surgeries, day surgeries, elective procedures like endoscopy and dental have been cancelled.
Cancelled surgeries will be rescheduled for a later date




Inpatient visitor policy
In order to limit the potential spread of COVID-19, additional restrictions for visitors to Inpatient Units are now in place across HMC hospitals.
From 13 March 2020, visitors are limited to first and second degree relatives only, one at a time, and for a maximum of 15 minutes.


HMC Emergency Departments 
  • All HMC Emergency Departments (including Pediatric Care Centers) continue to operate as normal, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Patients are reminded that HMC’s Emergency Departments are for urgent and life-threatening conditions only. Patients with urgent, but non-life threatening, conditions can visit these PHCC’s Urgent Care Clinics 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
  • Patients with suspected COVID-19 should call the MOPH hotline on 16000.

HMC Ambulance Service
  • HMC’s Ambulance Service continues to operate as normal, providing 24/7 medical services to patients with medical emergencies requiring immediate attention and transfer to an emergency department. 
  • The public are reminded not to call 999 for enquiries in relation to COVID-19.  For all questions and enquiries related to COVID-19, members of the public should call the Ministry of Public Health’s dedicated hotline on 16000.​

suspension of public and private schools in Qatar March 9 2020

A decision has been made to suspend public and private schools and universities for all students in the State of Qatar starting tomorrow, Tuesday, until further notice, as part of efforts and measures the country is taking to contain the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), and to ensure the safety of students in all government and private educational institutions.

The Ministry of Public Health urges all citizens and residents to avoid gatherings in public places, to avoid travel for the time being except if absolutely necessary, and to apply preventive measures to protect against infection as recommended by the Ministry on its website and social media accounts.

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) contact centre at the Ministry of Public Health is accessible around the clock for any reports or enquiries regarding the virus using the toll-free phone number (16000).

NO ENTRY FROM 14 COUNTRIES TO QATAR - COVID-19 PREVENTION

In addition to Qatar Airways announcement regarding flights to and from Italy, entry to the State of Qatar is temporarily suspended for all those intending to travel from certain countries, as of 9 March 2020. This decision comes as a preventive measure due to the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) worldwide.
The decision includes the following countries: Bangladesh, China, Egypt, India, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Syria and Thailand.
This step comes in line with the State of Qatar’s efforts to take all necessary preventive measures to limit the spread of Coronavirus.
The decision affects all individuals intending to enter from these countries, including visas upon arrival, those with a residence or work permit, and temporary visitors.
